Twitch announces TwitchCon, first ever game streaming convention

There are several conventions around the world happening yearly, monthly, others even weekly and Twitch just joined in with TwitchCon. Some of the most known conventions include Code Conference sponsored by Intel, F8 by Facebook, Flight by Twitter and TechCrunch has one of the most famous start-up conventions called TechCrunch Disrupt.

Twitch’s success was unbelievable to most people in fact it was really hard to think that people could sit there and watch others play games. Twitch is a game streaming platform where people go to watch gamers do what they do best. In fact, it was such a hit that Google considered buying it and got into a tough competition with Amazon. YouTube has never really got people hooked to the streams that are usually broadcasted via the platform. Google had the idea that by buying Twitch, they would make it easier for people to live-stream anything apart from the games. However, Amazon wouldn’t have it. Anyway, long story short, Amazon won the war and dropped a whooping 970 million bucks to buy Twitch in it’s quest to provide more online services apart from just being an online shop.

TwitchCon is going to kick off in September and Twitch promises that it will be everything games, all games and nothing else.Actually, the real deal is that it will a celebration of “everything Twitch”. Details of what will happen during the convention are still only sparse but keep checking, we shall update this story with more when hear something.

The first TwitchCon conference will take place at San Francisco’s Moscone West on September 25th to 26th. This is the same hall that has housed a mammoth of events in the near past including the WWDC and Google’s I/O.
